Level I Sailing Camp
Level I Sailing (Ages 8-10)
Campers will learn the basics of rigging, points of sail, sailing maneuvers, safety and recovery in a safe, fun environment. Certified instructors lead a variety of land- and water-based activities designed to promote comfort and independence in the boat. Sailors will receive US SAILING Little Red Sailing Certification Books at the completion of the course. Level 1 is open to all sailors looking for an introduction to dinghy sailing or to brush up on skills learned last year. A popular choice to take two years in a row.
Prerequisites: Basic swimming proficiency.

Level II Sailing (Ages 9-11)
This camp is a perfect follow up to the Level I camp, or, an ideal choice for young sailors who are already comfortable with the basics. Following a review of nomenclature and basic rigging, safety, and sailing maneuvers, sailors will advance to on-the-water activities that consolidate existing skills and teach new ones during longer sails around Burlington Bay.
Prerequisites: Basic swimming proficiency. Successful completion of Level I.
This is a two-week camp that runs Monday-Friday.

Level III Sailing Camp
Level III Sailing (Ages 12-16)
Building on the skills learned in Level I and II, this camp will refine on-the-water skills, boat-handling skills, and introduce advanced equipment. This program is designed for campers looking to advance their sailing skills without a focus on racing.
This is a two-week camp that runs Monday-Friday.

Prerequisites: Successful completion of Level I and II. Able to make precise tacks with little over/under steering. Generally able to avoid unplanned jibes. Feel comfortable and in control skippering a heeling dinghy in moderate wind.

Lake Adventure Camp
Lake Adventure (Ages 8-10)
This camp is designed for adventurers who love to play on the Lake but would like to do more than just sail on it. We will explore Lake Champlain to the fullest from a variety of watercraft, including canoe/kayak excursions out to Lone Rock Point, paddleboarding to North Beach, and sailing adventures around Burlington Bay.
Prerequisites: Basic swimming proficiency.

Multi-activity Camps
Laser! (Ages 12-16)

Spend a week learning how to sail solo! This program is for sailors who have completed Levels I-III and who are ready to take on the challenge of learning how to sail a single-handed dinghy.
Prerequisites: Basic swimming proficiency. Levels I-III.

Junior Big Boat (Ages 12 - 16)
Apply the skills you’ve learned in Level 1 & 2 to a new challenge – big boat sailing! Sailors will spend the week on board a larger keelboat learning the new crew roles and skipper responsibilities that go beyond those needed to sail small boats. This is an excellent camp to help dinghy sailors transition into the world of big boat sailing here on Lake Champlain.
Prerequisites: Basic swimming proficiency. Successful completion of Level I and II.

Art and Sail (Ages 6-7)
Art and Sailing
In partnership with Davis Studio, campers will learn how to sail and create art inspired by the lakeshore and by the creatures that live in or near the water.

Sail and Paint (Ages 8-10)
Sail and Paint
In partnership with Davis Studio, campers will connect to the lake as well as to their creativity. Campers will start their day on the lake learning to sail on dinghies and then use that inspiring environment as a jump off point for creating beautiful artwork including a watercolor plein air landscape, a Japanese wave painting and marbling on paper. Campers will also have the opportunity to do some collaborative painting on a jib which will adorn the walls of the Sailing Center.

Gumby Guppies (Ages 6-7)
Yoga and Sailing
This is our only multi-camp for our youngest sailors! Our Gumby Guppies will enjoy a dynamic day of yoga and sailing. In partnership with Evolution Family Yoga Center, this camp will begin with the basics of yoga both on land and out on SUPs. After waking their bodies up with yoga, the campers will take to the water and learn the basics of sailing on our 23-foot keelboats.

Prerequisites: Campers should be prepared to do a brief swim check while wearing a PFD.

Rosie's Girls Sail - NEW! (Ages 10-13)
All Girls STEM and Sailing
At Rosie’s Girls Sail, campers will explore STEM concepts through hands-on and exciting projects related to boat engineering, wind energy, and lake ecosystems for half of the day. In addition to technical learning, Rosie's Girls incorporates social and emotional skill development activities known as "Power Skills." During the other half of the day, campers learn the fundamentals of small boat sailing with the Community Sailing Center on Lake Champlain.

Yogirls and Sailing (Ages 8-10)
All Female Yoga and Sailing
In partnership with Evolution Yoga Family Yoga Center, the CSC is excited to provide a girls only camp that combines our love of yoga with our love of sailing. Through yoga and sailing, our campers will connect to both the land and the lake environments as they practice balance, gain strength and become more flexible in the outdoors. Campers will start their day with yoga both on land and on SUPs and learn the basics of sailing in dinghies in the afternoon.

Harvest and Halyards (Ages 8-10)
Farming and Sailing
This week long camp offers adventures on the farm and the lake! Campers will spend their mornings at the CSC learning the fundamentals of small boat sailing on Lake Champlain. During the other half of the day, campers will be in the Market Garden at Shelburne Farms where they'll work with the farmers and educators to harvest vegetables, take care of animals, and prepare farm-fresh snacks from the garden.

Pirates of the Champlain - NEW! (Ages 8-10)
Sailing and Stage Combat
Prepare to board, landlubbers! This camp will teach ye all there is to know to be a fearsome pirate! Learn swordplay and hand-to-hand combat; walk and talk like a pirate! Afternoons spent learning the basics of sailing and boarding a vessel for plunder.

Climbing and Sailing
In partnership with Petra Cliffs, this week long camp incorporates fun challenges on the water and off. Campers will explore Petra Cliffs climbing center, rope courses, and other activities in addition to learning and improving on the fundamental skills of sailing small boats on Lake Champlain. Additionally, students will spend a full day climbing outside on Thursday in Bolton and a full day sailing on Friday at the CSC.

Youth Summer Racing
Summer Race Program (Ages 12-16)
The Summer Race Program is a week long program designed for Level III graduates. This exciting opportunity will build on the advanced skills and sail theory students received in Level III and will include advanced coaching. Sailors will also learn racing skills including starts, tactical tips, and winning strategies. Each program is designed around a local or regional regatta that the team can participate in.

BIC Race Camp (Ages 9-12)
Building on the skills learned in Level II for 9-11 year olds, this camp is for our younger sailors who are ready to start learning about race technique and strategy in our fleet of single handed O’pen BICs. Sailors will put their new skills to the test by participating in unconventional un-regattas during the week.
Prerequisites: Successful completion of Level II. Able to right a capsized boat. Able to execute controlled tacks and jibes. Able to make headway upwind. Knowledgeable of basic sail trim.
