Multi-activity Camps
Junior Instructor Training (Ages 15-18)
Ready to take your sailing experience to the next level? Then become a Junior Instructor and let the CSC help lay the foundation of your professional sailing career! Junior Instructors help facilitate the day to day activities of youth camp at the CSC.
Prerequisites: Level II camp or equivalent

Little Guppies Half Day
Little Guppies (Ages 6-7 ) - Morning Sessions
It’s never too early to start sailing! In this fun introduction to the sport, campers will learn to be comfortable around the water, rig and sail a keelboat, and enjoy their day on the waterfront.
Prerequisites: Campers should be prepared to do a brief swim check while wearing a PFD.

Family Sailing
Spring/Fall Afterschool Sailing
(Ages 6-9) - NEW!

Beginner and novice sailors work together to embark on weekly adventures aboard keelboats. They will learn to rig boats, perform basic sailing maneuvers and tie knots with an emphasis on safety and seamanship. No previous experience required, just a positive attitude and an appetite for fun!
Little Guppies Full Day
Little Guppies (Ages 6-7) - Full Day Program
It’s never too early to start sailing! In this fun introduction to the sport, campers will learn to be comfortable around the water, rig and sail a keelboat, and enjoy their day on the waterfront.

Level I Sailing Camp
Level I Sailing (Ages 8-10)
Campers will learn the basics of rigging, points of sail, sailing maneuvers, safety and recovery in a safe, fun environment. Certified instructors lead a variety of land- and water-based activities designed to promote comfort and independence in the boat. Sailors will receive US SAILING Little Red Sailing Certification Books at the completion of the course. Level 1 is open to all sailors looking for an introduction to dinghy sailing or to brush up on skills learned last year. A popular choice to take two years in a row.

This camp is a perfect follow up to the Level I camp, or, an ideal choice for young sailors who are already comfortable with the basics. Following a review of nomenclature and basic rigging, safety, and sailing maneuvers, sailors will advance to on-the-water activities that consolidate existing skills and teach new ones during longer sails around Burlington Bay
Prerequisites: Successful completion of Level I. Able to right a capsized boat. Able to execute controlled tacks and jibes. Able to make headway upwind. Knowledgeable of basic sail trim.

Level II Sailing (Ages 11-15)

Level III Sailing Camp
Level III Sailing (Ages 11-16)
Building on the skills learned in Level I and II, this camp will refine on-the-water skills, boat-handling skills, and introduce advanced equipment. Campers will also learn beginning racing skills including starts, tactical tips, and winning strategies.
This is a two-week camp that runs Monday-Friday.
Prerequisites: Prerequisites: Successful completion of Level I and II. Able to make precise tacks with little over/under steering. Generally able to avoid unplanned jibes. Feel comfortable and in control skippering a heeling dinghy in moderate winds.

Multi-activity Camps
Junior Big Boat (Ages 12 - 16)
Apply Level I and II skills to a new challenge – big boat sailing! Spend the week aboard a larger keelboat learning new crew roles and skipper responsibilities that go beyond those needed to sail small boats.

Two programs are offered: cruising course sailors will learn to maneuver boats over 30’ and get introduced to the basics of racing without a spinnaker, while racing course sailors will maneuver sport boats and learn the basics of racing with a spinnaker.
Prerequisites: Completion of Level 1 & 2 and intermediate boat handling skills.

Lake Adventure (Ages 8-10)
This camp is designed for adventurers who love to play on the Lake but would like to do more than just sail on it. We will explore Lake Champlain to the fullest from a variety of watercraft, including canoe/kayak excursions out to Lone Rock Point, paddleboarding to North Beach, and sailing adventures around Burlington Bay.

Multi-activity Camps
Aloha Paddle Camp (Ages 11-15)
SUP and Dragon Boat
Get stoked for a week of paddling on Lake Champlain! In this week-long camp participants are introduced to two of the coolest and fastest-growing water sports in the world - stand-up paddleboarding (an ancient Hawaiian pastime) and dragon boat racing (an ancient Chinese tradition). Participants learn paddling techniques, safety, balance, steering, drumming, and racing strategy. The week culminates with CSC’s annual Stand-Up for the Lake event. Campers will be encouraged to participate in the youth races and showcase their skills just off the shores of Waterfront Park!

Climbing and Sailing
This week long camp incorporates fun challenges on the water and off. Campers will explore Petra Cliffs climbing center, ropes courses and other activities in addition to learning and improving on the fundamental skills of sailing small boats on Lake Champlain. Additionally, students will spend a full day climbing on Thursday in Bolton and a full day on Friday at the CSC.

Girls Rock the Boat (Ages 11-15)
All Female Climbing and Sailing
This week long, all female camp incorporates fun challenges on the water and off. Through the sports of climbing and sailing, our female campers will get the chance to challenge themselves in the dynamic environments and develop confidence and leadership skills. Campers will explore Petra Cliffs climbing center, ropes courses and other activities in addition to learning and improving on the fundamental skills of sailing small boats on Lake Champlain. Additionally, students will spend a full day sailing on Thursday at the CSC and a full day climbing on Friday in Bolton.

Skippers and Chefs (Ages 9-12)
Cooking and Sailing
This week long camp offers adventures indoors and outdoors. Campers will start their day embarking on a variety of organic and local culinary pursuits in the kitchen with their resident chef-instructor, culminating with a tasty lunch. Afterward, they will get on the water learning the fundamental skills of sailing small boats on Lake Champlain.
NOTE: There may be traces of nuts, gluten and other food allergens in the Healthy Living Learning Center. Recipes will include gluten, nuts, soy and dairy. If you have severe food allergies please take this into consideration. Please contact Clarina Cravins at Healthy Living Market for any questions or clarification regarding food allergies and cooking activities.

Skateboarding and Sailing Camp(Ages 8-15)
For those who like to skateboard and play on the lake, this is the ideal camp. Campers will spend mornings perfecting their skateboarding skills and afternoons learning how to sail small boats on Lake Champlain.

Bubbles and Breeze (Ages 12-16)
SCUBA and Sailing
Experience the lake from above and below the water! Campers will learn basic snorkeling and scuba skills to explore the lake’s aquatic habitat in the morning, then experience the excitement and skill of sailing in the afternoon. Youth with asthma, diabetes, and epilepsy are unable to participate in this camp.

Catch the Stoke (Ages 11-15)
Windsurfing and Sailing
Get pumped and learn two sail-powered sports in one week! Every morning you’ll learn the basics of sailing small boats at the CSC and then in the afternoon you’ll head down the waterfront to the beach to windsurf. There, you will learn to rig your own gear then get out on the water to learn the basics of tacking, jibing and going upwind.

Sailors and Scientists (Ages 8-12)
All-Girls Stem and Sailing
Take science to the lake! Each morning will begin with the basics of sailing on keel boats at the Sailing Center followed by afternoons at ECHO discovering what it means to be a freshwater biologist and designing your very own water sampling equipment! Our major project will be designing your very own plankton net and testing it as you set sail on a keel boat.

NOTE: After care is also available through the Echo Center for Lake Champlain until 5pm for $12/day. Please see their camp webpage for more details.

Bikes and Boats (Ages 9-10)
Cycling and Sailing
This unique opportunity connects campers to both the land and water. Mornings are spent cruising Catamount’s trails, learning bike handling skills and introductory mechanics. Afternoons take participants down to the lake as they explore the fundamentals of sailing.

Youth Summer Racing
Summer Race Program (Ages 11-16)
The Summer Race Program is a 2-week session designed for Level III graduates. This exiting opportunity will build on the advanced skills and sail theory students received in Level III and will include advanced coaching. Campers will also learn racing skills including starts, tactical tips, and winning strategies. Oportunities to compete against regional teams are optional for participants.
This is a two-week camp that runs Monday-Friday.
